Saladin Islamic Seminary
Saladin Islamic Seminary offers courses on the revelatory sciences with a Bachelor of Arts degree program or specialized tracks in theology and law. Our courses present Islam in an integrated fashion, which opens the mind of the student to the depth of the Qur’an and the Sunnah and cultivates the knowledge of the Righteous Predecessors both inwardly and outwardly.
Our curriculum is built around the study of belief and the three divisions of the revelatory sciences (Qur’anic exegesis, hadith, and law). These subjects are accompanied by the tools of understanding (Arabic grammar and morphology, legal theory, and logic). Students are first introduced to the key concepts of each subject. The goal is to acquire the ability to convey those concepts to others. Secondly, students learn the evidences for relied-upon opinions. Lastly, students apply the principles of each discipline, learn variant opinions, and develop the skill of methodically evaluating those opinions.
Full courses are available on-demand through recorded lessons, with periodic live sessions for discussion and testing. Besides the degree program, students also have the option of taking individual courses or specific study paths according to subject.
The BA program is ideal for those seeking a position as an imam or chaplain, those who seek to be qualified muftis, or those who aspire to scholarship. Individual courses and specialized tracks are ideal for students interested in gaining a familiarity with or conducting in-depth study of the subjects offered without the full scope of the BA program.
