The first course in our specialized ‘aqidah track, al-Iqtisad fil-I’tiqad, by Hujjat al-Islam al-Ghazali (rahimahullah). This is an intermediate level course. Students are introduced to the history of Islamic theology and the origins of sectarianism, and learn both rational and revelatory arguments for the doctrines of Sunni Islam along with responses to their objections. Upon completion, students will not only have certainty regarding the truth of Islam in the face of intellectual challenges, but also be equipped to respond to those challenges in greater depth. Part One begins September 17, and is 14 lessons covering al-Ghazali’s prefaces and the first section on the essence of Allah. Arabic reading is required.
