Introduction to Devotional Law I

Students are introduced to the discipline of law and its history and learn the rulings of purification and salat relied upon for issuing fatwas. Students will gain a firm grounding in how to worship correctly and be able to confidently answer all the basic questions related to the topics covered.

Introduction to Devotional Law II

Students are introduced to the discipline of law and its history and learn the rulings of zakat, fasting, and the hajj relied upon for giving fatwas. Students will gain a firm grounding in how to worship correctly, with knowledge of the definitions, conditions, and restrictions of all the basic questions related to the topics covered.

Introduction to Transactions

Students are introduced to the discipline of law and its history and learn the rulings of transactions such as buying, selling, renting, and others relied upon for issuing fatwas. Students will gain a firm grounding in how to engage in transactions correctly and be able to confidently answer all the basic questions related to the topics covered.

Introduction to Family Law

Students are introduced to the discipline of law and its history and learn the rulings of marriage, divorce, and related topics relied upon for issuing fatwas. Students will gain a firm grounding in family law and be able to confidently answer all the basic questions related to the topics covered.

Introduction to Criminal Law

Students are introduced to the discipline of law and its history and learn the rulings of criminal law, governance, and arbitration relied upon for issuing fatwas. Students will gain a firm grounding in these issues and be able to confidently answer all the basic questions related to the topics covered.

Intermediate Devotional Law I

Students examine the rulings of purification and salat in greater depth along with their detailed evidences. Intro to Legal Theory is required.

Intermediate Devotional Law II

Students examine the rulings of zakat, fasting, and the hajj in greater depth along with their detailed evidences. Intro to Legal Theory is required.

Intermediate Transactions

Students examine the rulings of transactions in greater depth along with their detailed evidences. Intro to Legal Theory is required.

Intermediate Family Law

Students examine the rulings of family law in greater depth along with their detailed evidences. Intro to Legal Theory is required.

Intermediate Criminal Law

Students examine the rulings of criminal law in greater depth along with their detailed evidences. Intro to Legal Theory is required.

Advanced Devotional Law I

Advanced Devotional Law II

Students examine the rulings of zakat, fasting, and the hajj, with a focus on learning the variant opinions of a school with their evidences, and how the scholars concluded which opinions are preferred and relied upon. Arabic reading and Intermediate Devotional Law II are required.

Advanced Transactions I

Students examine the rulings of transactions, with a focus on learning the variant opinions of a school with their evidences, and how the scholars concluded which opinions are preferred and relied upon. Arabic reading and Intermediate Transactions are required.

Advanced Transactions II

Students examine the rulings of transactions, with a focus on learning the variant opinions of a school with their evidences, and how the scholars concluded which opinions are preferred and relied upon. Advanced Transactions I is required.

Advanced Family Law I

Students examine the rulings of family law, with a focus on learning the variant opinions of a school with their evidences, and how the scholars concluded which opinions are preferred and relied upon. Arabic reading and Intermediate Family Law are required.

Advanced Family Law II

Students examine the rulings of family law, with a focus on learning the variant opinions of a school with their evidences, and how the scholars concluded which opinions are preferred and relied upon. Advanced Family Law I is required.

Advanced Criminal Law

Students examine the rulings of criminal law, with a focus on learning the variant opinions of a school with their evidences, and how the scholars concluded which opinions are preferred and relied upon. Arabic reading and Intermediate Criminal Law are required.

Legal Maxims

Students learn legal maxims as well as the differences between similar legal issues, along with practicing their application. Arabic reading and all Intermediate law courses are required.

Protocols of Giving Fatwas

Students learn the manners of giving fatwas, the protocols followed in a particular school, and the relationship between relied-upon opinions, weak opinions, and how to apply the law in abnormal circumstances of dire need or necessity. Legal Maxims is required.
